App unlock is now available for vehicles across the UK. As we work to upgrade the systems in our cars, not all of our vehicles are currently UNLOCK compatible. Just look out for the purple highlighted vehicles when making your booking through the app! Please note that you will not see the UNLOCK-compatible vehicles when making a booking through your browser.
Using App Unlock
Quick Guide: Unlocking with the Co Wheels App

Download the Co Wheels App: Make sure you have the latest version of the Co Wheels app downloaded on your smartphone. The Co Wheels app is available in the App Store and Google Store.

Log In: Use your Co Wheels account credentials to log in. If you’re a new user, sign up and follow the setup steps.

Find Your Car: Find your closest vehicle using the App. Cars with App Unlock enabled will be highlighted in purple with an App Unlock symbol in the left corner. Book your chosen vehicle as normal.

Go to Your Booking: At the time of your booking, open the App, open the menu using the tab at the top left corner of the screen, select “Bookings” and select your current booking.

Unlock: Once in range of the car, press the "Unlock" button in the app. Wait a moment, and you’ll hear the doors unlock. If you are not in range of the car or you do not have Bluetooth enabled, the app will be unable to connect. You will see a list of troubleshoot suggestions.

Start Driving: Start the car as usual, and you’re ready to go! You will be able to use App Unlock throughout your booking.

Locking and Ending Your Booking: At the end of your booking, return the car to its bay, place and lock the car using the app's "Lock" button. To end your booking, press "End Booking". This will complete your booking.
This app unlock feature makes it easy to get going without needing your membership card. Whilst this feature is still being tested, we recommend keeping your membership card on you as a back-up.
