Many locations now have zoned cars as well as those parked in traditional, permanent car share bays. Our Zone Cars do not have a fixed parking bay but can be parked anywhere on street within a virtual zone, which will be one or more streets in a neighbourhood.
The zone is clearly marked in our booking system when you reserve and is represented by a pin in the centre of the zone, but when you collect it, the last user may have left it anywhere within the allowed area. So it is best to download our app first and use that when collecting and returning the car so you can clearly identify the zone.
At the start of your booking
Fifteen minutes before your booking starts you will get an email with a map showing its current location clearly marked by a pin. If your car isn’t where it is supposed to be then call us on 0191 375 1050 and we will help you find it.
At the end of your booking
Once your booking has ended then you can leave it anywhere you are legally allowed to park within the geofenced zone shown in our app. If you do not use the app then remember to screenshot a copy of the zone map and check streets mentioned in the booking instructions to make sure it is in the zone. Do not park on any solid yellow or white lines / loading bays/ disabled bays etc as this may result in PCNs being issued. Please respect your neighbours, do not block drives or accesses and avoid parking on the pavement.
In some areas you are allowed to park in permit areas – the booking instructions emailed to you will make this clear for each car. If you are unable to leave the car anywhere in the zone at the end of you booking then park it legally as close as possible and contact Customer Services to let us know so we can alert the next user.
Which areas have Zoned cars?
Currently we have Zone Cars in Aberdeen, Dundee, Frome, Leamington Spa, Musselburgh, Newbury, Newcastle, Oxford and Walton on Thames. More locations will be rolled out in future so make sure to check the details in your booking emails for specific instructions.
